| Adrenaline:
A substance produced by the body. It causes quickening of the heart beat, strengthens the force of the heart's contraction, opens up the bronchioles in the lungs and has numerous other effects. The secretion of adrenaline by the adrenal is part of the "fight-or-flight" reaction that we have in response to being frightened. This in turn makes the pulse quicken, makes us feel on edge, nervous, panicky. It can affect us in different ways, some will feel the need to run away, some will feel the need to use the loo etc. This is a normal reaction to the Adrenaline which our body is making in excess and is sending through our blood stream to all parts of our body. It doesnt last long, and the best way to expell the Adrenaline is to try to relax, and learn how to breathe to calm the body down. | |
